BOB

Best of Britannia

Just a couple of days to go until Best of Britannia. Featuring loads of really interesting brands by day / bands by night etc, it should be superb.

The media pack describes it as ‘A new, innovative and highly targeted brand statement event that exclusively caters for British brands that design and manufacture in the UK. BOB provides a retail and wholesale opportunity for both the brand and the discerning buyer. If you care about the provenance of products – you should be at BOB.

BOB is not specific to a single sector. It has speedboats. It has handbags. It has marmalade vodka. We want to show the world the men and women who have devoted themselves to the creation of outstanding products’.

Come to your senses at BOB.
TASTE the best British food & drink – Feast on the finest fare, wines and cocktails.
LISTEN to the best British bands – Lend an ear to the shining stars of next year.
FEEL the finest materials – Get up close and personal with the fabrics of the future.
SMELL superior leather goods – A fantastic array of luxuriousness by UK makers.
SEE the latest in innovation – Unveiling an iconic British star as a hologram.

There’s also going to be a seminar running through the three-day event which I’ll be chairing & also giving speeches about ‘Britishness’. The range of speakers is excellent, featuring Dave Hieatt (Howies & Hiut), the surf brand Finisterre, Movember, Manufacture in Motion, Tom Herbert, Anna Felton, Marc Demarquette, and the awesome Adrian Lochhead from EdenArts who’ll be talking about Picnic Cinema and Uncle Monty. (www.picniccinema.co.uk)

Plus – yes there’s more! – the evening entertainment features loads of great artists (checkout NME www.nme.com for info), and the company that bought you the hologram of Tupac at Coachella will be unveiling a ‘very special guest’ that the media are going to going mad about. (I’ll also be the compere for the bands, so standby for my finest John Weller – father of Paul – impression i.e. ‘Here’s the greatest band in the FUCKING WORLD’ etc.) And, no – it’s not The Jam reforming by the way…

Anyway, it’s in Farringdon, the site is www.bestofbritannia.com and I hope to see you there!
